Opéra sur Tréteaux is an ensemble for music theater founded by Sophie Catherin in 2017. It revisits the lyrical repertoire in an experimental and playful way, adapting it for a chamber setting.

In changing scale, Opera sur Tréteaux opens a space for rewriting and recomposition, which allows for a more radically critical interpretation of the repertoire. The ensemble experiments with the conditions of production of opera in an effort to renew its esthetics and its politics.
